ABOUT HDIF

The Human Development Innovation Fund (HDIF) is catalysing the development of new models of service delivery, the use of new technologies, the involvement of new providers and establishment of new partnerships, with a focus on the private sector and public-private partnerships.

 

HDIF’s goal is to improve human development outcomes for people in Tanzania by funding sustainable solutions for improving the quality and impact of basic services in health, education and water, sanitation and hygiene (WASH).

 

Working in collaboration with the Commission of Science and Technology (COSTECH) and other local partners, HDIF seeks to accelerate the testing and a scaling of innovation and strengthening of the innovation ecosystem through cross-sector networks, strategic partnerships, awards and events. Our three main components are;

Joseph provides overall technical and administrative leadership in the Fund Management process in the areas of grants and contracts management, financial administration and operations. As Country Director Joseph coordinates all technical assistance support provided to the fund beneficiaries and liaises with various stakeholders of the Fund.

Revocatus leads HDIF’s finance, accounting and operations function, managing resources that fuel our progress towards making an impact. As the Director of Finance and Operations he oversees a team dedicated to finance, accounting, human resources and office operations, serving as the senior resource for each of these functions.

Auson focuses on continual improvement in the grant management processes, always ensuring that the grant management function is operating efficiently and effectively. He is also a Relationship Manager, working with a small number of the grantees who require strong financial oversight due to the size or risk profile of the grant.

Hannah drives the communications for HDIF, ensuring the newsletter goes out, social media content is on point and up to date, and supporting grantees as they reach out through the media. Her work is especially important for sharing learnings from the HDIF program in the national media and ensuring the media understand what innovation is, and how it benefits Tanzania.

Claudette serves as liaison between HDIF and its grantees. She works with our grantees to help them improve their business performance to deliver on their objectives. She also takes the role of a trusted advisor by offering and providing access to technical advice as and when it is needed by the grantees.

Simon provides support to various outputs of the programme such as as M&E, Innovation Week and the Innovation Ecosystem Map projects. He is also part of Dar es Salaam Global Shapers hub and engaged in supporting young innovators at many of the innovation spaces/hubs in Tanzania.
